We do not have funded openings right now, and we are not running an active search. We do make exceptions for exceptional candidates, and we have hired outside of an open search before.
If you are a strong candidate, I would rather hear from you than not.
Who this means. Candidates who are competitive for their own funding: F32, K99/R00, EMBO, HFSP, Marie Curie, or a national fellowship from your home country. Candidates with a first-author paper published or in revision. Candidates who want to run their own lab and can say what they would work on here.
What we would offer. Our postdocs work on a defined project that is theirs to take with them, negotiated in writing within the first six months. We support fellowship writing with protected time. Trainees are first authors on their primary project, present at international meetings, and are introduced to our collaborators through the CANCAN Cancer Grand Challenges consortium. Alumni have gone on to independent faculty positions, the Broad Institute, and industry.
How to write to me. Email with the subject line "Postdoc inquiry: [your last name]" and include:
A one-page statement describing a specific experiment or question you would pursue in this lab, referencing a specific paper or preprint of ours. This is the part I read first.
Your CV, including your publications with your author position marked, and your funding eligibility and visa status.
Three references with contact information.
Applications without the one-page statement will not receive a reply. I read the rest only if the statement is good.
We are not currently able to host self-funded visiting scholars, short-term observers, or clinical observerships.
